San Diego Police Vehicle Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5

 
San Ysidro, CA (November 26, 2020) – On Wednesday, three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a San Diego police vehicle on Interstate 5.
 
The crash happened at about 4:20 p.m. between State Route 905 and Dairy Mart Road wherein a woman driver was trapped in the wreckage.
 
Also, a San Diego police officer was involved in the crash and sustained minor injuries.
 
Rescuers rushed one victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital as a trauma patient, while the Medics took others to UC San Diego Medical Center.
 
Footage showed about a dozen firefighters trying to free a victim from a badly damaged silver vehicle. Similarly, the crews appeared to be still working to rescue the victim as of about 5:15 P.M.
 
The crash traffic in the South Bay including drivers heading toward the border ahead of the long Thanksgiving weekend.
