Thomas Sturdy Killed in Tucson Vehicle Crash
Tucson, AZ (November 21, 2020) – On Friday, 72-year-old bicyclist Thomas Sturdy died in a crash on Overton Road and La Cholla Boulevard.
Deputies responded to the scene at about 10:14 a.m. for a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a bicyclist.
When they arrived, deputies found Sturdy in a conscious and alert state with an apparent leg fracture.
Immediately, Rural Metro Fire took him to the hospital where his condition worsened.
Sturdy later died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed on the scene.
Police said speed nor impairment appeared to factors in the crash.
No citations were made. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
