Thomas Sawyer Dies, Harley Anderson Involved in Vancouver Hit-and-Run Crash
Vancouver, WA (September 14, 2020) – On Friday, police arrested 21-year-old Harley Anderson for being involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 56-year-old Thomas Sawyer in Vancouver.
The local law enforcement booked Anderson at the Clark County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run, and driving while license suspended in the third degree.
Moreover, Clark County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at about 8:25 p.m. to a stolen vehicle in progress call and apprehended the car at the intersection of Northeast 29th Avenue and Northeast 170th Street.
Authorities identified Anderson as the passenger in the vehicle and arrested him.
The suspect is linked to a hit-and-run crash at the corner of East Mill Plain Boulevard and Grand Boulevard on September 2.
When responders arrived at the scene, they found Sawyer on the ground and the suspect’s vehicle gone. Officers later located the GMC Envoy SUV.
Furthermore, the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Sawyer died due to multiple blunt force trauma. They also said his death was an accident.
Meanwhile, Vancouver Police Department said this incident is being investigated.
