Thanom Pimpa Dies, Rebecca Goehner Arrested Following DUI Pedestrian Accident at Mission Lakes Boulevard and West Drive
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (May 9, 2019) – The pedestrian who died on April 25 after being struck by a DUI driver at Mission Lakes Boulevard and West Drive has been identified.
Thanom Pimpa, of Desert Hot Springs, died that Thursday just seven minutes after a vehicle struck him in a marked crosswalk.
According to police, 53-year-old Rebecca Goehner was driving westbound on Mission Lakes Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. She subsequently blew through a stop sign and struck the 76-year-old man.
Pimpa died at the scene shortly after. Police arrested Goehner, of Desert Hot Springs, on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
However, according to jail records, she was released the next day on bail.
