Tess Rothstein Fatally Struck by Driver on Howard Street Near 6th Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 11, 2019) – A bicyclist lost her life Friday morning following a collision with a driver on Howard Street near 6th Street.
The incident unfolded around 8:30 a.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department.
A driver in a white truck struck Tess Rothstein as she rode along Howard Street, dubbed by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency as a high-injury network.
Rothstein, 30, died in the collision. The electrified Ford Go rental bike, which the Berkeley resident rode, was found at the scene. Per reports, she swerved to avoid an open car door, yet ended up hitting the truck.
The unidentified driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
