On Wednesday, 61-year-old Teresa Medrano of Sunnyside, and her passenger, 68-year-old Manuel Medrano, died in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 24.
The fatal Yakima accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. when the two were traveling east on State Route 24.
At the same time, a 32-year-old Yakima man was also driving in the same direction.
Teresa stopped to make a turn left to Cold Creek Road, but the vehicle behind them struck them.
The vehicle pushed Teresa’s car into the west lane.
Then, a third vehicle driving west of State Route 24 struck Teresa’s car.
The authorities pronounced Teresa and Manuel dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, charges are pending for the 32-year-old Yakima man.
The authorities continue to investigate the deadly Washington crash.
They did not provide any estimation for when the roads would reopen.
