Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Driver near Las Tablas Road
TEMPLETON, CA (March 6, 2019) – A 17-year-old girl died Tuesday night in an auto accident on Highway 101, near Las Tablas Road.
The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. when officers responded to the major-injury call. According to a California Highway Patrol report, the teen girl, from Paso Robles, stepped into the right lane of Highway 101 into the path of an oncoming vehicle. A driver subsequently struck the 17-year-old with the right-front fender and windshield area.
As a result, the unidentified victim suffered fatal injuries. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene shortly after.
According to reports, police determined that impairment did not play a role in the collision. Officials did not release any information regarding the driver except that he or she is from Atascadero.
