2 Hospitalized in Temecula Pedestrian Collision
TEMECULA, CA (January 25, 2019) – Two pedestrians were struck and injured by a motorist Wednesday night at Madigan Street and Morgan Hill Drive.
The incident happened around 8:34 p.m. near the intersection, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig.
A 49-year-old woman and 51-year-old man, both residents of Temecula, were in a crosswalk at the time they were hit by a 61-year-old Temecula woman. The driver was reportedly traveling northbound on Morgan Hill Drive in a 2017 Chevy Silverado before she attempted a left-hand turn onto westbound Madigan Street.
The couple, who was struck while walking within the crosswalk, sustained major injuries and were brought to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
As a pedestrian, it’s important to be on the lookout for oncoming vehicles. Drivers are also encouraged to look both ways before making their next move. If it is hard to see, remember to slow down. We can all reduce the dangers of traffic collisions by being defensive and vigilant.
