Teenage Girl Dies in Crash on Lorton Avenue near Howard Avenue [Burlingame, CA]

1 Dead in Burlingame Single-Vehicle Accident on Lorton Avenue near Howard Avenue

 
BURLINGAME, CA (May 18, 2021) – Monday morning, a teenage girl died in a crash on Lorton Avenue near Howard Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. in the 100 block of Lorton Avenue. Moreover, the incident occurred between Howard and Bayswater avenues.
 
Upon their arrival, they located a teenage girl in the front seat of a Black Acura SUV with injuries. Responders took her to a regional hospital for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, the authorities arrested the male teenage driver for several charges.
 
“We do believe speed was a factor, and we are looking into the possibility that alcohol was involved,” Lt. Jay Kiely with the Burlingame police revealed. “It’s not an area where we have historically had these types of collisions.”
 
The authorities submitted a case to the Juvenile Division of the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
