Teen Skateboarder Hit, Injured by Driver in Fullerton
FULLERTON, CA (January 2, 2020)— A 17-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday after a skateboarding crash on Orangethorpe Avenue near Gilbert Street.
According to Fullerton Police Lt. Jon Radus, the incident happened in the 2400 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue around 12:39 p.m. Arriving officers found the teen with serious injuries and a gray Mercedes sedan with windshield damage.
Paramedics arrived soon after and transported the severely injured victim to a local hospital.
The circumstances of the crash remain unknown at this time; however, authorities are investigating this case further to determine where the fault lies and the details that occurred prior to the impact.
As for the driver, he or she remained at the scene and appeared shaken up. There were no reports of any citations or arrest following the crash.
