14-Year-Old Hurt in Simi Valley Skateboarding Crash
SIMI VALLEY, CA (May 29, 2019) – A skateboarder suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning after a vehicle struck him at Cochran and Stearns streets.
The incident happened around 7:45 a.m., according to the Simi Valley Police Department. The 9th grader – an enrolled student at Simi Valley High School – sustained serious injuries when the driver hit him.
According to police, the eastbound vehicle struck the teen as he skateboarded southbound on Stearns Street.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and brought him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old female driver from Simi Valley and her two juvenile passengers escaped injury. Inferring from investigations, it did not appear that the driver was at fault.
