18-Year-Old Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 26, 2019) – A single-vehicle accident Thursday morning along North Figueroa Street near Pasadena Avenue turned fatal.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash claimed a teen’s life and left two others in critical condition. The 1 a.m. accident unfolded when a car crashed into a concrete light pole in the Highland Park neighborhood.
The vehicle, shuttling only three people, crashed under unknown circumstances. As a result of the impact, all three patients were trapped inside the heap of metal.
The unidentified teen died immediately on impact, according to Det. Juan Campus of LAPD Central Traffic Division.
Paramedics transported the remaining two patients—one male and one female between ages 18 and 20 years old—to a hospital.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined by investigators who plan to see whether drugs, alcohol or street racing played factors in the crash.
