Understanding the basics of safe driving and applying them will make a difference in your safety. Always keep your isolated attention on driving. Slow down, for speeding gives you less time and road clearance to react to an unforeseen incident ahead. Lastly, keep a three-second cushion from the driver ahead of you; this will also render you more time to react.
