Boy Critically Hurt in Pedestrian Crash in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (March 7, 2019) – A teen boy suffered critical injuries Wednesday morning in a pedestrian accident at Garden Grove Boulevard and Nelson Street.
According to police officers, the Garden Grove High School student suffered a minor skull fracture and a broken nose and jaw when a four-door sedan struck him.
Around 8:50 a.m., the driver struck the teenager in the crosswalk as she attempted a left-hand turn. Per reports, the driver, described as a woman in her 30s, informed authorities that she did not see him due to the heavy rain. Police questioned her at the station shortly after.
The accident left eastbound Garden Grove Boulevard closed between Century Boulevard and Cypress Street due to investigations.
