Teen Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Driver in Lemon Grove
LEMON GROVE, CA (May 6, 2019) – A driver fatally struck a teen pedestrian along San Miguel near Mercury Drive Friday evening.
According to reports, deputies responded to the 6:20 p.m. crash that took place in front of San Miguel Elementary School.
Paramedics shortly arrived at 7059 San Miguel to transport the victim to Rady Children’s Hospital.
However, according to Sgt. Aaron Montan of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, despite life-saving efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries. Reports described him as either a 13 or 14-year-old boy.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigations.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the accident, but an ongoing investigation is underway.
