Afternoon Car Accident at Alta Mesa and Twin Cities Roads Kills Driver
HERALD, CA (December 10, 2019) – A man was killed in a car accident Tuesday afternoon in Herald, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Alta Mesa Road and Twin Cities Road.
According to the CHP, a 2005 Toyota Scion had traveled down an embankment, struck a tree and overturned in a field.
As a result, the driver of the car suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Takota Beck-Murphy, 20, of Galt.
The CHP news release indicated that the Toyota drifted off the road after making an unsafe movement.
It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
