Tajudeen TJ Salami Killed in East Park Row Drive Collision [Arlington, TX]

Arlington, TX (January 5, 2024) – 44-year-old Tajudeen TJ Salami sustained fatal injuries following an East Park Row Drive collision on December 18.

It was past 9 p.m. when the fatal hit-and-run collision unfolded at the intersection with  Susan Drive.

Salami and her girlfriend Jocelaine Jean went from their Arlington apartment to a Family Dollar store to grab popcorn for movie night.

At the same time,  25-year-old Paula Cely-Bernal‘s Mazda struck a Honda Civic. The impact of the collision caused the Civic to leave the roadway and struck Salami on the sidewalk. 

The Civic driver remained at the scene while Cely-Bernal drove off.

Salami sustained brain damage and was kept alive by a ventilator but he died on January 1.

Moreover, witnesses remembered Cely-Bernal’s license plate and directed the authorities to where the Mazda was parked. 

Paula Cely-Bernal was originally charged with an accident involving serious bodily injury but Arlington Police said she will now face an upgraded charge of an accident involving death.

The Civic driver will not face any criminal charges.
