Person Dies in Sylmar After Being Struck by Train
SYLMAR, CA (December 6, 2018) – Authorities are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash involving a train that happened Wednesday afternoon on San Fernando Road near Astoria Street.
The unidentified victim was hit by southbound Metrolink train 220 on the Antelope Valley Line. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 3:15 p.m., according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
None of the 98 passengers on board the train were injured yet the train was held at the scene and four others on the AV line were canceled. Buses were being called to transport the stranded passengers to their desired destination.
The details and events leading to the crash were unavailable, but the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this further.
