2 Hurt, Baby Safe in Sylmar Multi-Car Accident
SYLMAR, CA (March 5, 2019) – A husband and wife suffered major injuries Sunday following a three-vehicle crash at Foothill Boulevard near Vaughn Street.
According to reports, a man leaving a marijuana dispensary broadsided an Infiniti sedan. A husband, his wife, and their 7-month-old child were in the Infiniti at the time. As a result, the impact of the crash sent the Infiniti into oncoming traffic, where a SUV struck it.
The man and woman inside the Infiniti suffered major injuries. It took firefighters nearly an hour to extracted the couple from the damaged vehicle.
Reports say the infant, who was secured in a car seat, was not injured.
A preliminary investigation states the driver was not impaired at the time. However, if the victims die, the District Attorney’s office will be investigating the crash for possible vehicular manslaughter charges.
The 2:50 p.m. crash left the three cars with significant damage.
