Sucha Randhawa Dead, Truck Driver Injured after Redmond Head-On Accident
REDMOND, WA (July 17, 2019) – One man identified as 72-year-old Sucha Randhawa, of Renton, died after a head-on crash on Tuesday, July 16.
According to Trooper Nick King, the crash occurred at about 5 a.m. along Highway 202 just west of NE Ames Lake Road.
Randhawa traveled east on the highway when his vehicle went into a curve in the westbound lane. Then it crashed into a semi-truck coming around the curve.
The impact of the collision broke the steering mechanism on the semi-truck. After that, it sent it careening off the side of the road, over the guardrail and nearly over an embankment. Some trees kept the semi from falling into a 25-30 feet creek below, according to troopers.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the loved ones and friends of Sucha Randhawa.
