Motorcyclist Dead After Crash on University Drive and Signal Butte Road in Mesa

Mesa, AZ (December 23, 2023) – On Saturday morning, 43-year-old Steven Ferguson Jr. died in a crash on University Drive and Signal Butte Road.

Rural Metro firefighters received a call around 5:30 a.m. reporting a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a man in cardiac arrest due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Despite life-saving efforts by Rural Metro personnel, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Steven Ferguson, Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Sheriff’s Office also reported the arrest of the other driver involved on Sunday.
