Injuries Reported in Palm Springs Pedestrian Accident on E Palm Canyon Drive and E Araby Drive

PALM SPRINGS, CA (November 9, 2023) – Tuesday night, a startling pedestrian crash on E Palm Canyon Drive and E Araby Drive injured 1 person.

The incident happened just after 7:00 p.m. on East Palm Canyon Drive, East of Araby Drive.

According to reports, a car struck a pedestrian. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a woman down in the road with head injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Tamara Wadkins, Spokesperson for Palm Springs Police said, “The driver of the car who struck the pedestrian was traveling westbound on East Palm Canyon Drive in heavy traffic, when they saw other cars breaking and swerving, and then slowed down. Suddenly, a pedestrian ran in front of their car. The driver was not able to stop in time and collided with the pedestrian, causing significant injuries.”

Then, the authorities closed the roadway for several hours while they investigated the crash. Moreover, the driver has been cooperative and the traffic team revealed that the driver was not DUI nor at fault, in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
