Man Hospitalized Following Spring Valley Hit-and-Run Driver
SPRING VALLEY, CA (February 14, 2019) – A man was hospitalized Tuesday evening when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver following an altercation in the 9300 block of Jamacha Boulevard near Grand Avenue.
A person contacted dispatchers around 5:20 p.m. informing them that a man had been struck by a vehicle in the 7-Eleven parking lot, San Diego County Sheriff’s Sgt. Garth Schick said.
According to witnesses, two men grew contentious near the fuel pumps and engaged in a physical fight. The two men eventually separated with one standing next to a white sedan and the other hopping into a black Cadillac sedan.
The incident escalated when the man in the Cadillac tried striking the other man with the car and casting him onto the street. The driver of the Cadillac drove westbound on Jamacha Boulevard before whipping around, trying to strike the victim a second time.
The unidentified victim was brought to Scripps Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. The 32-year-old victim informed officers that the suspect was involved in a strong-arm robbery involving his brother which occurred earlier that day.
As far as the suspect, who was seen continuing eastbound on Jamacha Boulevard, he remains at large.
