Fatality Reported after Marysville Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 5 near Snohomish River Bridge
MARYSVILLE, WA (August 10, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, a man died in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 5 near Snohomish River Bridge.
The incident happened at about 3:54 p.m. when a 56-year-old Marysville man drove a Chevrolet Malibu south. As he traveled at a high speed between lanes, he rear-ended the motorcycle. The impact knocked the driver off the motorcycle and into the bush along the right shoulder.
Then, the sedan veered off the highway, overturned into two other vehicles, and fell on the embankment. As a result, the driver who failed to wear a seatbelt got thrown off from the vehicle. Then, responders declared him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, responders transported the motorcyclist to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment.
The authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Also, they haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
