Pierce Country Fatal Collision Results in Injury
Pierce County, WA (February 28, 2023) – On Saturday, a 54-year-old Tacoma man and his dog died while a 51-year-old Spanaway woman sustained injuries in a Spanaway Loop Road 2-vehicle crash.
The fatal collision happened near the 16500 block area near the southwest shore of Spanaway Lake.
According to the investigating officers, the man was northbound in a green Acura when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle crossed the center turn lane and both southbound lanes before it struck a white Jeep Wrangler occupied by one 51-year-old Spanaway woman. Officers added that the man was driving recklessly by passing cars in the center turn lane.
The paramedics took a woman in the Jeep to a hospital with serious injuries.
Unfortunately, the authorities declared the 54-year-old man and his dog dead at the scene.
The authorities said the investigation determined the Acura driver was at fault.
