27-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Minivan near 710 Freeway
BELL, CA (June 16, 2019) – A South Gate man lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Florence Avenue, Sunday afternoon. Authorities withheld the identity of the 27-year-old victim, pending family notification.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 2:15 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a motorcycle collided with a Toyota Sienna near 710 Freeway. The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle.
Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota remained and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash. Officers encourage witnesses to contact the CHP’s East LA area office at (323) 980-4600 as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
