Sonia Mena Detained Following DUI 2-Car Accident on Lacey Boulevard at 9th Avenue
HANFORD, CA (January 23, 2020)—A 26-year-old man suffered injuries following Sunday’s two-vehicle DUI crash at Lacey Boulevard and 9th Avenue.
According to officials, the man suffered unknown injuries and paramedics brought him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that as he drove east on Lacey boulevard, 36-year-old Sonia Mena struck his car at 9th Avenue around 7:00 a.m. Further investigations revealed that Mena ran a stop sign and appeared to be intoxicated when tested for alcohol.
Officers subsequently arrested her on suspicion of DUI after she’d tested a blood-alcohol level of more than two times the legal limit. Police booked her into the Kings County Jail.
