Two People Killed in Bakersfield Head-On Crash Identified
BAKERFIELD, CA (August 27, 2019) – Authorities identified 50-year-old Soledad Paniagua of McFarland and 32-year-old Juan Aztudillo Lopez of Arvin as the people killed in a collision on Bear Mountain Boulevard, Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near South Edison Road, at about 5:30 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a westbound Toyota Corolla crossed over into the eastbound lanes. There, it collided head-on with a PT Cruiser just west of Cuda Drive.
Lopez, the driver of the Corolla, and Paniagua, a passenger in the PT Cruiser, both died at the scene. Meanwhile, three other PT Cruiser passengers were airlifted to the hospital for unspecified injuries.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
