1 Dead in Encinitas Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 and Santa Fe Drive

 
ENCINITAS, CA (April 5, 2022) – Sunday night, a 46-year-old Solana Beach man died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 and Santa Fe Drive.
 
The crash happened at around 11:50 p.m. on north Interstate 5 and Santa Fe Drive.
 
According to reports, a Jeep Grand Cherokee struck the pedestrian walking in the second lane from the left.
 
As a result, the male pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the 50-year-old Jeep driver from Los Angeles County stayed at the scene. Also, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Moreover, they shut down portions of the road until around 2:30 a.m.
 
Furthermore, they urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Highway Patrol’s Oceanside-area office at (760) 643-3400.
