Woman Killed in Simi Valley Collision
SIMI VALLEY, CA (December 19, 2018) – A crossing guard was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle that was involved in a three-car crash at East Los Angeles and Socrates avenues.
The three-car crash involved a Chevy Malibu, a Chevy Cruze and a Kia Soul around 2 p.m. The Chevy Cruz struck the 62-year-old Simi Valley woman on duty before the car ended up on the front lawn of a home.
According to Sargent Steve Shorts, Simi Valley Police Department, the crossing guard was standing on the curb next to the stop light when she was hit. She was not assisting any pedestrians on the roadway at the time.
The victim was brought to a nearby hospital but died shortly after. Police say all three vehicles sustained collision damage and all the drivers are cooperating with the investigation. Neither driver was hurt in the crash.
