Police Searching Suspect in Mauna Kea Lane Hit-and-Run Accident

San Jose, CA (October 28, 2022) On Monday evening, a pedestrian crash on Sierra Road injured a grandmother and her 3-year-old grandson.

Reports say that the hit-and-run accident happened at around 5:40 p.m. near Mauna Kea Lane.

Officials say that a newer dark gray four-door hatchback struck the woman pushing her grandson on a stroller crossing a marked crosswalk.

The impact of the collision caused the woman to fall and the toddler fell off the stroller, and the child hit his head on the pavement. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid to both victim, instead they fled the scene.

Police say that the suspect vehicle is similar in style to a 2012 Mazda 3. Additionally, the vehicle will possibly have damage to the front driver’s side.
