Lisa Core Arrested for DUI in Crash That Left JJ Malone and Caylee Brown Dead
Bakersfield, CA (December 09, 2021) – Yesterday, 19-year-old JJ Malone and sibling 10-year-old Caylee Brown, both died in a DUI crash on Panama Lane.
The fatal crash took place at around 1:15 p.m. near South H Street.
Officers said that 46-year-old Lisa Core lost control of her vehicle and fatally struck the victims.
Investigators determined that JJ and Caylee were standing on the corner of Panama Lane and Hammond Way when the westbound sedan driven by Core crossed the eastbound lanes and jumped the curb before hitting a tree.
Unfortunately, the officers pronounced the siblings dead at the scene.
Moreover, the emergency responders took Core to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Then, the authorities booked Core into the Kern County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license for DUI. Core is being held without bail and is due in court on Friday.
A GoFundMe was created to help pay for the siblings’ funeral costs. You can donate to it at this link.
