Dealing With the Pain of Losing a Loved One

In the case of accidental death, the family of the victim should be aware of their rights under the law.  This means that there may be a right to file a lawsuit against the people responsible for their loss.  Those closest to the victim may have the right to seek compensation for their loss.  Common examples include funeral expenses, then medical bills, and finally the “loss of consortium”. Loss of consortium means the deprivation of future affection and companionship over an untimely death.
