Sherri Paxton Strikes, Injures Pedestrian on Highway 18 Near Tao Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (April 6, 2019) – A man suffered serious injuries Saturday after being hit by a driver on Highway 18 near Tao Road.
According to reports, the pedestrian accident happened in the 18700 block of Highway 18.
The crash drew the attention of Apple Valley fire paramedics who subsequently requested a helicopter for the seriously injured man. However, due to his severe injuries, medics wasted no time and diverted him to St Mary’s Medical Center.
Sherri Graves Paxton struck the unidentified pedestrian with her 2014 Volkswagen Passat. She and her children remained at the scene following the accident.
Details concerning what led to the crash are unclear, but news reports say the pedestrian ran across the street before the impact occurred.
According to reports, crews directed Highway 18 West traffic toward Tao Road for several hours due to investigations.
