1 Person Injured in Sherman Oaks Crash
SHERMAN OAKS, CA (February 22, 2019) – One person was hospitalized Thursday after a eucalyptus tree toppled onto the 405 Freeway near Burbank Boulevard.
Around 1:30 p.m., a eucalyptus tree fell on top of the on-ramp, causing damage to a sedan and another vehicle.
A Ford F-150 was struck by a branch – its windshield shattered. Three people were medically evaluated at the scene and one driver was taken to a nearby hospital, according to California Highway Patrol.
Traffic near the Highway 101 interchange was jammed as crews cleaned the area. By 2:40 p.m., all lanes of the southbound 405 Freeway were reopened.
