1 Dead in Oceanside Multi-Vehicle Accident on Southbound Interstate 5
OCEANSIDE, CA (March 3, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a 26-year-old serviceman died in a pileup crash on southbound Interstate 5.
According to reports, just before 7:00 a.m., the members of Ventura County-based Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 drove south on Interstate 5. Then, at least one of the five vehicles slowed and caused the others to crash with each other.
As a result, one of the drivers succumbed to his injuries. The authorities are withholding his identity due to pending family notification.
Meanwhile, responders transported five other sailors, three men, and two women, to Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital and Mission Hospital in Orange County. Their injuries rangers from serious to minor injuries said the Highway Patrol.
The crash on southbound Interstate 5 remains under active investigation.
