Selena Clark-Quintero Killed, Others Injured in Ukiah Crash
Ukiah, WA (August 13, 2021) – On August 7, 14-year-old Selena Clark-Quintero of Potter Valley, died in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 101.
At around 1:30 a.m., a traffic officer tried to stop a gray, 2017 Volkswagen Beetle. However, the 15-year-old driver failed to yield.
Reports said she fled south on South State Street at speeds more than 100 mph.
The officer pursued the vehicle onto southbound Highway 101.
Moreover, when the vehicle exited at Rivino Ranch Road, it drove past the stop sign. The vehicle left the roadway and went airborne.
Finally, the vehicle slammed, overturned and landed on its roof.
Responders took the driver to UCSF for incurring major injuries.
Similarly, the 13-year-old girl rear passenger, was also injured in the accident. Rescuers took her to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley.
Unfortunately, the front passenger, Clark-Quintero, was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash. Officers pronounced her dead at the accident scene.
Investigating officers said the driver and the rear passenger were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, officers are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
