People Avoid Injury After Impaired Driver Tries to Hit Them in Seattle
SEATTLE, WA (February 13, 2019) – A woman was arrested for DUI Sunday night after she tried to run over a group of people having a snowball fight on Thomas Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. A video that was posted by Joey Wieser shows the Seattle woman getting into her blue Jeep and trying to mow down a group of people having a snowball fight after a snowball struck her vehicle. It was unclear whether the thrown snowball was intentional.
The video revealed the woman exiting her vehicle after her Jeep became stuck in the snow. She allegedly put her keys between her fingers and was combative toward a man; however, another male stopped the fight, holding the woman back.
No one was seriously hurt in the incident, but the unidentified woman was arrested after responding officers determined that she was high on marijuana. She was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
The power that drugs and alcohol has over us can be extremely dangerous. When impaired, do not operate a car. Car accidents typically stem from drug and alcohol consumption. If you or a friend are under the influence, find a safer mode of transportation home instead.
