SEATTLE, WA – Bicyclist Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on Rainier Avenue

Fatal Bicycle Hit-and-Run Accident near Sturtevant Avenue South

 
SEATTLE, WA (February 28, 2019) – An unidentified bicyclist was killed Monday afternoon, when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Rainier Avenue.
 
The Seattle Police Department responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m. to find the cyclist with grave injuries. Police subsequently blocked off the road in both directions as investigations took place.
 
The unidentified victim died at the scene shortly after, due to the impact of the collision.
 
According to a preliminary investigation, officers believe the bicyclist was trying to cross Rainier Avenue South when he was hit by the southbound sedan that fled the scene.
 
Later that day, police found a white sedan with severe front windshield damage; however, it has yet to be determined whether this car was truly involved in the collision.
