Sawyer McCanless and Another Seriously Injured in Car Accident on US 101
Humboldt County, CA (March 2, 2021) – On Monday, Sawyer Mccanless and Angel Rocholazcano, both from Fortuna, were seriously injured in a crash on US 101.
The road accident happen at about 7:10 a.m. north of Salmon Creek.
Mccanless was traveling on a 2016 Hyundai Elantra northbound on the US 101.
At the same time, Rocholazcano was driving his 2002 GMC Yukon southbound on the same road.
Both of their vehicles rested within the traffic lane and blocked all northbound and the number 1 southbound lane.
Right away, rescuers rushed both of the drivers to St. Joseph Hospital for sustaining major injuries.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.

Moreover, officers diverted the US 101 northbound traffic to SR 254 until one lane was cleared for traffic.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of US 101 remained restricted to one-way traffic until all lanes were cleared.
