Woman Dies in Santa Clarita Bicycle Accident
SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 4, 2019) – A vehicle struck and killed a 62-year-old bicyclist at Railroad Avenue and 15th Street Friday morning.
Around 7:05 a.m., deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station responded to reports of a car accident involving a bicyclist.
Upon arrival, crews located a female bicyclist, described as a 62-year-old woman. According to police, she suffered grave injuries.
Paramedics immediately transported the victim to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. However, despite life-saving efforts, the patient succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 50s, stayed at the scene. In addition, she cooperated with the authorities and was not injured in the accident.
At this time, officials are conducting an investigation to determine the ultimate cause.
