Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train in Santa Clara
SANTA CLARA, CA (December 27, 2018) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Caltrain Tuesday afternoon near Scott Boulevard and Main Street.
The incident happened around 12:42 p.m. about 500 feet south of the Scott Boulevard overpass. None of the 35 people on board the train who were heading to San Jose from San Francisco were hurt, according to Caltrain spokesman Haroon Malek.
The unidentified victim was killed after being hit by the southbound train 426. The fatal crash caused residual delays in the system due to investigation and cleanup.
Authorities are investigating the ultimate cause of this crash and are asking the public to come forward if they have any information.
