Fatal Big Rig Collision near South Twin Oaks Valley Road
SAN MARCOS, CA (February 27, 2019) – One unidentified driver was killed in a big rig accident Wednesday morning, on Highway 78.
Reports indicate that a big rig was stopped on the roadway around 12:15 a.m., for unknown reasons. Authorities also later received multiple calls regarding a Honda CR-V slamming into the rear of the semi around 12:50 a.m. Officers arrived near Twin Oaks Valley Road, in the left lane of the highway soon after.
Upon paramedics arrival, the Honda driver was pronounced dead due to the impact of the collision. Furthermore, it is currently unclear why the big rig was disabled or why the driver veered into it.
The cause and circumstances of the crash are under investigation by authorities. No further information has been given at this time.
