Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (November 26, 2018) – A 47-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a driver Saturday morning on Monterey Road near Rancho Drive.
According to San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia, the unidentified pedestrian was hit around 3:21 a.m. by a northbound 2014 Mazda on Monterey Road.
The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision, police reported. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital where he died shortly after. The 47-year-old woman operating the Mazda stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials. Drugs and alcohol were not considered to be factors in the wreck.
