Fatal DUI Two-Car Wreck in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (December 18, 2018) – One person was killed, and three others were hospitalized following a suspected DUI crash on northbound Highway 101 near West Trimble Road Saturday night.
Authorities responded to a two-vehicle crash report on the northbound side of the highway around 10:45 p.m. Crews learned that one person was ejected from one of the vehicles. Firefighter paramedics pronounced the ejected person dead on the scene and treated three other victims who were injured in the collision. All patients were taken to nearby hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
News reports say that a white Honda was stopped on the shoulder of the highway due to mechanical failure when it was hit by a Ford Mustang. The driver of the Ford Mustang, a man in his 20s, was said to be impaired and was arrested on charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence.
