Scooter Rider Hurt Following San Diego Collision
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 17, 2108) – A 30-year-old man riding a scooter was seriously injured after he collided with a vehicle at Fourth Avenue and Broadway Saturday night.
The collision unfolded around 11:10 p.m. in the 900 block of Fourth Avenue, Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department reported.
A 47-year-old woman driving a Toyota Prius was heading southbound in the No. 3 lane and entered the intersection while the scooter rider, heading eastbound along the south sidewalk, ran a red light and broadsided the Toyota.
The 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized with a brain bleed. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, authorities confirmed; however, an investigation of this crash is underway.
