Pedestrian Hospitalized in San Diego Collision
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 4, 2018) – A 63-year-old man suffered major injuries Monday evening after being hit by a motorist at 54th Street and University Avenue.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. when a 61-year-old woman, behind the wheel of a 2007 Nissan sedan heading southbound on 54th Street, proceeded through the intersection on a green light. As she traveled through the intersection, her vehicle struck a 63-year-old man in the roadway.
The pedestrian was brought to a nearby hospital with major injuries while the Nissan driver stayed at the scene. Police confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Officers from the San Diego Police Department traffic division is still investigating this case to learn more.
