SAN DIEGO, CA – Bicyclist Dies After Being Hit by Car on Fairmount Avenue Near Ridge View Drive

Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 13, 2019) – A 66-year-old bicyclist was killed Tuesday after falling off his bike and being struck by a motorist on Fairmount Avenue near Ridge View Drive.
 
The 66-year-old bicyclist was riding his mountain bike southbound in the northbound lane when he lost control of his bike for unknown reasons and fell to the ground. A 61-year-old woman in a 2001 Toyota Camry did not see the man and ran over him after traveling northbound on Fairmount Avenue.
 
The man was killed in the crash and the Toyota driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
Intoxication was not said to be a contributing source to the crash, but more investigation is underway.
