2 Girls Hurt in San Diego Two-Car Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 21, 2019) – Two teen girls were hospitalized Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash at Rancho Bernardo Road and Cresta Drive.
The two-car collision took place around 9:30 p.m., according to San Diego Police. Police confirmed that a Kia Spectra heading southbound on Cresta Drive stopped at the intersection’s stop sign with Rancho Bernardo Road. As the 17-year-old male driver pulled forward, his Kia was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound Ford F-150.
A 16-year-old girl sitting in the Kia’s backseat, as well as a 17-year-old girl in the Kia’s front seat, was injured. The 16-year-old suffered a fractured right hip while the 17-year-old suffered a fractured leg. It was not clear whether the 17-year-old Kia driver or the 36-year-old Ford driver were harmed.
DUI was ruled out as a contributing source to the collision, per the police.
