1 Person Hospitalized Following Samoa Multi-Car Wreck
SAMOA, CA (December 14, 2018) – A four-car pile-up involving a big rig along the Samoa Bridge near Highway 101 sent one person to a hospital Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened in a construction zone area, which had one lane closed off due to construction work. CHP officers say a semi-truck driver did not have enough time to break before striking a minivan ahead of it. The force of the impact sent the minivan into two other cars directly in front of it.
One person in one of the vehicles was brought to a hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation and cleanup of the accident snarled traffic on the bridge. CHP said drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the wreck.
